Object Name Medal
Description A military medal commemorating service in the Philippine Campaign. The top of the medal consists of a short, navy blue silk ribbon with two red stripes. Attached to the bottom of the ribbon is a bronze medallion. Seen at the center of the medallion are a palm tree with a lamp on one side and the scales of justice on the other side. The piece reads "Philippine Insurrection/1899." The opposite side of the medallion reads "U.S. Army/For Service." The medal was authorized by Congress in 1905 to pay tribute to veterans.
