Scope & Content A ledger book kept by the City of Sioux Falls to track contagious diseases in the city/county between 1953 and 1963. The book has black covers with a metal peg spine. The ledger tracked mumps, measles, chicken pox, small pox, diphtheria, tuberculosis, whooping cough, scarlet fever, and other. The ledger notes where each disease was reported, the person who was sick, their address, their age, their sex, their illness, the day their illness started, where their illness started (i.e., their school, their residence, etc), and the attending physician. The miscellaneous section includes other diseases not specifically noted, such as polio, hepatitis, cancer, meningitis, and so on. Many pages are unused.
