Title Civil War Discharge Papers
Scope & Content John Coutts's discharge certificate following service during the Civil War. Coutts joined the 24th Regiment of the Iowa Infantry on 12 August 1862. Coutts was discharged in Savannah, GA, on 17 August 1865. The paper has an eagle logo at the top and the phrase "To Whom it May Concern." There are two stamps at the top as well. One third of the back is a blank Oath of Identity form.
