Object Name Booklet
Title An Illustrated Letter
Scope & Content The booklet is bound with two staples along the top. The cover is red with a photo of a radio operator sitting at a desk with machines all around him. Below that is an image of a piece of Sioux Falls Army Air Field stationary with the beginning of a hand written letter. The top left corner has a box that could be filled in with persoanl information, including who the letter is from, their sqaudron and their barracks. This letter is from Jack. The pages are filled with images of the base, including photos of the interior of the barracks, the baseball team, physical training, the church, laundry, hospital, bosing, football, and basketball. There are also some photos of Sioux Falls, including the Falls, downtown, and an agricultural scene. There are several more of soldiers learing how to use and repair the radios. Throughout the letter there are boxes with text abour the photos, and some pages have illustrations.
