Scope & Content A booklet that was produced to convince South Dakotans to have Mitchell as the capital of South Dakota. There is another section explaining why Pierre became the capital. There are then maps showing the average rain fall, distribution of population, distribution of cattle, distribution of swine, map showing the average selling value per acre of land without improvements, and distribution of total wealth. There are several additional pages informing readers about South Dakota. There is a testimonial from former Governor A. E. Lee advising that the capital be moved from Pierre to Mitchell. The next page has a full page photo of the capitol building in Mitchell. The final pages tell the pros of Mitchell and the cons of Pierre.
